I recently traveled from Addis Ababa to the Oromo region of southern Ethiopia to study the impacts of expanding export cattle markets on local subsistence herders. The landscapes are magnificent. The cattle are plentiful… gazillions of cows, bulls and oxen.
I was honored to travel with World Care Ministry to Cotonou, Benin in Spring of 2007. Below are a few pics representing their water and sanitation crisis. I also included some of the beauty through smiles and fashion.
In the United States, there is one doctor for every 390 people. In Kenya, there is one doctor for every 10,000 people, and in Tanzania it is closer to one doctor for every 20,000 people. This creates a huge problem in terms of healthcare access.
